Thank you to who said 'Use an Aquarium pump to dry out boilers".

This one I bought is extremely quiet, two outlets and fitted really neatly (after some mods and I wired in an electrical switch) underneath and on the side of my table in my steam room.

Works brilliantly!

Yup, Jim packs 5 bushels in a 3 bushel basket. I think it was Jan that (suggested) a aquarium pump to dry out his boilers.

Jim,

Excellent setup, love the organization skills.

PS- loosen your wristwatch strap and that metal cuff!  Looks like it’s cutting off blood circulation!

Thanks Travis :) I do like to organise things and I do enjoy keeping a log book of all my engines and steam runs.

How do you use an aquarium pump to dry out a boiler ?

Go through your normal boiler emptying routine, then  leaving the SV out, put the silicone air tube in and turn the pump on.
Overnight the circulating air will dry the boiler out bone dry.

Don't forget to seal the boiler off with the air line in it first, then open up the steam line valve and run the engine on air for a minute to clear the steam line and cylinder of any water.
