The little Brother arrived - Plank No. ???
« on: November 19, 2022, 01:17:47 pm »
Got my very nice Plank steam plant today. It is the little brother
from our member Jim "skeptic49". It has an excellent condition and there are
no issues or repair. I already have tested with compressed air
and will soon make a live steam video. Colors of the platform are still
good looking so I guess that this engine was stored at a perfect place.
Even the manometer works with the integrated safety valve.

That is very nice, Arnold. Yes, it looks like a smaller version of the engine I recently acquired, redstored, and posted about. Yours is certainly in excellent condition. I think that the number may be in the 2166 series. See Schiffmann, Band 22, p. 188.

Can you post or send me a close up photo of the face of the manometer? Thanks in advance. Jim

I will post a picture tomorrow. The Schiffmann has no measurements and very few info for the 2166 - also the values that are declared are a joke - nobody would ever sell such a rare engine under 500 - my opinion. It is a heavy and quality engine and can not be compared with Bing/Doll smaller engines.

Another very well-kept antique steam engine Arnold, I like the throttle wheel in the steam line, I wonder why steam engine makers don't do this more often. will be waiting to see the video.

A great steam plant and in outstanding shape.

I've always been fond of the early toys and happy to have a number of them.
