I published the first Episode of Tool Time in February of this year:

https://www.officeofsteamforum.com/general-discussion/tool-time!-new-tools-stuff-for-my-steam-toys-workshop/msg21116/#msg21116

I filmed the second Episode today. It’s a 110F Heat Index outside and my Steam Cave aka The Garage is Air Conditioned. So, I was looking for a project and this was what I came up with.

A few pictures and the video are below.

My Unimat DB 200 Lathe:

Upgraded Variable Speed Motor for my Lathe:

A few pictures of my workbench and some of the tools shown in the video:

And, finally, the video:

Those are interesting looking wrenches.
If I had the storage space... And the money... I'd have a few more engines.

Lots of nice equipment there Charlie, looking forward to more of your restorations  ;)

I had a hard time finding non-Chinese needle files and finally found a 6pc Swiss-made set at an R/C shop in their model building section. I'll have to keep an eye on that set from Home Depot and watch for a sale...

Great looking shop charlie! I like the a/c idea. I have not been out to my machine shop for the last 3 weeks due to the high heat and humidity. An a/c unit is on it,s way. With no engine shows to go to, i will at least be able to do some builds over the summer.

Good stuff Charlie, I may have to find my way to buying a few of those items as well. I've had AC in my shop for 5 yrs now & wouldn't be with out it anymore (same as heat) keeps the condensate off of the tools & less rust issues.

The Bahco spanners are the best IMHO.  I found out recently that the company is now owned by SnapOn Tools.

Mine is a Trane Split System.  Best investment I ever made.  I can now work in the Steam Cave aka "the garage" year round.  I also added a small heater for the few cold days in winter.

Thanks Bruce!

I have a few items for Episode 3 which I plan on publishing at the end of Q3.   :)

Thanks Nick.  It is getting harder and harder to fine ANY tools that are not made in China.   >:(

I've tried to explain this to small hardware stores in my area and I tell them that they are forcing me to buy online to find quality tools/parts, but they don't seem concerned. One local store announced that they were closing not even a week after I was in there telling them that I was going to go home and order what they couldn't supply me.

Thanks for showing us Charlie, all good stuff.
A reverse cycle A/C is a good option, however the one in my shed does not cope with our 40+C summers heat.

All set for any instance, Charlie. You have an enviable tool situation, and right now I'm really jealous of a functional shop AC. My little window unit isnt enough for my high ceilings, and is really useless after 11 am. I can handle it until about 3 o'clock, when inside temps soar into the high 90s. After that, delirium and swamp-@$$ take over.

It would cost a fortune to cool your massive shop Benny. I sure would like to have some more space in mine.

China, Walmart, Home Depot and Lowe’s have destroyed local hardware stores across America. You can hardly find a tool in any of the Big Boxes made in America. Very Sad.
