These don't come up for bid very often and when they do they usually bring considerably more.

Perhaps it was the grungy looking crud all over it that kept the price low.

Below, the 1st picture is from the eBay listing which is what it looked like on arrival.

The threads on the whistle were trashed from someone cross-threading it at some point.

Fortunately the threads in the boiler are usable (gently) with a different whistle from my Jensen parts bin.

I pulled all of it off the wood base and cleaned with wood with Gojo original (no pumice) smooth hand cleaner and #00000 steel wool that I got a roll of a few years ago. This revealed the slightest remnants of a Jensen decal (see picture).

Then I cleaned the firebox and chimney stand the same way as the wood.
The boiler was lightly polished with Simichrome as were the lamp post and engine parts but not enough to take away all the aged nickel patina.
