What was your first resto?

Mine was this little Jensen that I got from the U.S and stripped it down in December 2013.

Mine was a run down Jensen 25...boiler was bashed, but boiler was found from an even more run down piece...married the two and it began my active steam collecting.

I think the joy of restorations are in the bringing back to life & good useful service an engine that looked so far gone as to not be salvageable , I see them as abandoned puppies that are in desperate need of help....that I can offer them 😊
One of the early ones I did was also a cast based non-reversing riveted boiler Jensen #25 , I picked it up off of Craig's list for $50 , as recall it was $60 ,but the gentleman took $10 off because I had driven so far to get it 😁

Mine was a Robert Fulton Vertical.

I think I have some before and after pictures.  I will post them if I find them.

The biggest problem was the lamp post only the wire was attached.
When I got the lamp post it had threads on it and this one was only
had a taper. So I used my dremel tool to grind the taper.

Here....

One of my earlier restorations on a 1/2 hp Sipp from the late 1800's.

It is a bit over done and with red that is brighter than I might use today today.

Mi Steam, very nice engine but you have a screw lose... in front. ;) I don't have a Jensen yet, but seeing them makes me want to rectify that situation. ;)

I had to take a look at the 10 and I must have
fix the loose screw after this photo.
