Looks to me like it is Dad who is picking out the new toy, mostly for himself no doubt. I suspect the child will only get to watch Dad play with it for quite a few years to come, until the day does arrive for the child, now well on the way to adulthood, to be give permission to operate it, if not actually possess it!

Least that's how it would work here .... so, how does it work at your place Nick?!?!
