Bing Family Portrait
« on: September 23, 2019, 01:37:09 pm »
In advance of going to German in November for the Bing Museum Show, I pulled out all of my Bing Engines and took a Family Portrait.

This beast would not fit on the table. So, it got its own Portrait:

I always like your family portraits, Charlie. It feels like a homework assignment- see several I like, then rush to the books to find out what model it is and put them on my want list.
 Thanks for the awesome pics.

WOW CHARLIE!!  8) 8)

I have always wanted one of those Bings up front with the firebox that surrounds the boiler. I really like how they have the heavy cast tops on their stacks as well  8)  I almost went for one a couple weeks ago on eBay, but it did need some work (loose pieces) and I keep telling myself no more projects!  :D  The base-mounted engine however had some very nice paint/decals...

Thanks for all the nice feedback.

Honestly, I didn’t know how many Bing engines I had. 🤠

Forced me to pull them all out and dust them. I moved things around and put them all together on one shelf in the Steam Cave.

So, the Bing Family has been reunited.

Nice Charlie. Looks to me like a Marklin tried to sneak in the back row.

Well then, wouldn't a Marklin be at least a second cousin once removed, so still part of the family in a way?
