I had bought the one with better paint thinking it would replace the other, not realizing they are completely different...

I do not know if the wood frame is original, just that it is very old. I also am not sure about the burner, but it matches the Buckman style...

And finally the boat... I believe this is a Union Mfg. Little Wonder. I put it with the Buckman engines as I was told Union Mfg. took over Buckman in the 1880's...

Nick, that is quite a collection of Buckman's!  I don't think that I had ever heard of Buckman; maybe I thought they were Weeden's, if I saw one in the past.  But, it just so happened that another Forum member gave me this little Buckman at the Coolspring engine show.  My son had repaired a circuit board for his Stirling engine, and he wanted to give this engine to my son as a thank you.  Since my son doesn't collect engines, I may get to keep it, or at least I'll get to store it for him until his next trip home.

I don't know any more about it than what the pictures show, but it sure looks good on my shelf!

Very nice Doug, but I wish that one was in my family photo  ;) ;)

Good to see what the weighted valve that both of my horizontals are missing is supposed to look like

Any idea of the age and model of this engine?

I do not know enough about them... so a rough guess would be 1880-ish. Would love to be corrected and learn more about them...
