Funny thing, after seeing your MSM engine, and looking on their website at all they have to offer, i saw this Plant on ebay. It seems like a good deal, since a new one costs $1100 plus shipping to the US for me!

That doesn't look too bad Doug, the Clyde is basically the twin version of the Tyne as it uses the same cylinder. I had also heard MSM might also be working on a v-twin version of the Tyne.

Here is the Tyne mounted on it's new English Oak plinth:

I've ran it on steam for the first time and i can confirm what others have said of this engine, it is incontinent!! :o

I've also found it needs a lot of steam to run, hopefully this will get better as it gets ran in!

That plinth looks very nice :)

The brass slot screws finish it off.

Along with being fantastic value for the money! ;D

I'm very happy with it Rog, although it has taken a bit of running in. I believe these engines are really designed to run on around 30 or 40PSI but i've managed to get it ticking over on just less than 20PSI.  ;)

I suspect it will do far better than that too, given more run time!

Nice engine, and I just love all that brass and bronze showing naked.

I agree Daniel, that has certainly been the case with the Pevensey!

Yes i also love the bare look and it will develop a nice patina over time. I've certainly been very happy with my two MSM products and hope to add more to the collection in the near future.  ;)

Looks like it even has a little traction grip texture inside the beltway, is that true Philip?

Yes it does have grip inside, it is a Wilesco pulley which David opened up so it would fit on the driveshaft which i felt was the most economical way to do it.
