Engine arrived all the way from china today. Not bad postage really, took about 5 days. Comes in a good strong box and well packaged. I will look at putting it together over the weekend. What would you use in the burner? I have Isopropanol and also lamp oil?

Hi all,
I am having issues getting the engine to work with steam. I have connected compressed air and it works ok with that. I tweaked things a bit last night and installed a couple of small O rings to places where it looked like steam could escape. I will fire it up again tomorrow night. I have pressure, the whistle blows loud etc. The engine wants to turn but just cant make it.I go through the same procedure with steam as I do with air, let the pressure build then help the wheel with a little push. I have tried adjusting the regulator too. I used the alcohol for fuel and that works fine, I also used used some alcohol on myself when the bloody thing wouldnt turn!! Not the same 99% stuff though!
