No More Electro Therapy

There´s a saying that "The shoemaker´s children go barefoot", which suits my project here rather well.

I do have a 2000W variac, and a 220V/110V 2000W transformer as well, but due to their weight they´re both relatively stationary, and i often end up grabbing the lightweight DIY solution.
Within the last decade, i have been electricuted more times than i can remember by that setup.
Today it gave me a proper "HELLO" for the last time...as i with a tingling right arm finally decided it was time to complete it.

It is one thing when an amateur does bodgy electrical work, quite another when a professional does it. About time.
just one wrist slap though, brown wire for an earth connection??? :o

LOL...sssshhhh Dave :D

I looked high and low, but had no more groundwire at hand, and couldn´t be bothered to go to the workshop for those 2 inches.
Figured noone with x-ray vision would be encountered in the near future, so i used the brown one and slammed the lid on there.

Won´t expect any leaks to object, and refuse to pass through it, due to the insulation colour though.

No, absolutley not, Jan. Leakage current is colour blind, skin colour doesn't stop it either as you found earlier  :D

They´re nice cheap units, and impressively sturdy as well.
This one has been thrown in a pile, being attached to the parts shown above for a decade now, and still works perfectly well.
Starting to regret the couple of bucks i spent on a spare back then, as they might well turn out to be completely wasted  :D

You did a great job on that Jan. It looks like it came from the store. As far as ground wire color goes,
as long as the guy working on it knows what's what.
Some deer hunters live by the rule, "If it's brown it's down."  In your case, "If it's brown it's ground."
