R06 mini Stirling engine

Wow, all I can say is wow. Jin and his team have done an absolutely beautiful job with this engine, the finish is great, and it runs like a top. For being as tiny as it is, this is mind bending to function so nicely. The burner offers no means to adjust flame height easily, and so it will quickly overheat if you don't carefully adjust it. That is my only minor inconvenience with this engine, and it is probably much less of a worry if you use a less volatile fluid, I used charcoal fluid because it was at hand haha. Just look at the cute little screws on the head of the power cylinder! I hope Jin starts making accessories for these little engines, as I would love more reasons to run it. I couldn't resist the temptation to acquire one of these miniature marvels.

Yesterday the mailman left me a little box from Jin, the direct result of a recent auction, that contained 2 tiny engines an R06 miniature Robinson Stirling Cycle Engine and an S06 miniature Steam Engine.

This should give an additional perspective of the size.
Below I included a picture of them sitting in the middle of a Jensen #50 in between the boiler, engine and an OZ Steam Demon chuff pot.

Hey Gil

The mini-Robinson is in fact vented. If you will look at the tripod foot opposite the flywheel you will see that there is a very small vent hole right at the toe of that foot. The foot actually partially blocks the hole on my unit, but I have drilled it out such that I can use my blunt needle hypodermic to put alcohol (about 2ml) in the tank without unscrewing it. It will occasionally fire a long blue flame out the vent hole however, so watch out for that!

I'm way impressed with just how well these tiny engines run.

On another note, I do run mine on a ribbed rubber mat so that it behaves itself while running and doesn't dance around all over the place!

Thank Daniel. I stand corrected. 

I did not notice the vent hole until you mentioned it. As you mentioned it will shoot fire occasionally. 
That's a good idea filling with a syringe.
