New KM&Co Steam Engine Added to the Collection

KM&Co steam engines don't show up on eBay USA often.

This one was reasonably priced and the engine turned out to be much better than the pictures.

The fire box and base are not original and the burner is missing.

All I did was wipe it down and oil it.

It runs on about 2 psi.  The air valve adaptor I used was made by another forum member for Ernst Plank engines and the threads on the KM&Co Engine had an identical thread.

This model is not included in the Schiffman Books.

If anyone has any idea on the Model No., please let me know.

I seen that on your workbench in the post about 8' lights in the shop.
Had it on my watch list and forgot about it. Good grab Charlie.

That's an interesting engine, congratulations. With that large steam dome it looks as if the boiler could also have been used to make a locomotive model. Is the mounting frame for the the cylinder soldered on? The base looks like it is attached with screws into the boiler. I wonder if it would leak under steam pressure.

I checked  #historytoy website and guess
this one very similar. Krauss & Mohr should be correct but model number??
There is not much information...

The boiler is actually a vertical cylinder inside the steam dome.  The horizontal structure is just for looks.

I had no idea Nick that the seller was a Forum Member. 

It was very expertly packed. 

Whoever did the work on the firebox did a nice job.
