New steam engine completed
« on: October 10, 2024, 06:31:54 pm »
Last month I finished building a St Helens steam engine. This a model of an engine built to pump water for the Kirkby area of England in 1880. The ful size engine was a two cylinder compound with one 60 " and one 32" cylinder. The engine was rated to pump 1.5 million gallons of well water per 24 hour period. I bought the castings from a German company called Steel of Steam. [ Guests cannot view attachments ] If you scroll down you will find more pictures.

Yes yes...more pictures please, you can't just tease us with ONE photo. This is amazing. We would leave to see it in operation.

Thanks for the extra photos, most are nearly identical, but from the one that showed a little bit of the mechanics, looks really nice and complex.  Well done from what I can discern.
