Gas Burner ?

This came in a used purchase. I noticed it looks different than the one offered on mini-steam web site.
Any information on this burner in my post would be nice,

I have one similar, bought some years ago from the maker somewhere in Eastern Europe.  Inexpensive and a bit crudely made but it works pretty well

Hello Dave

Do just hook it up to the gas tank with or without any air induction port in the gas line. Also is your flame yellow or blue at the burner.

Just connected like any other gas burner, the only difference being there is not a gas jet as such, just a tiny hole in the plugged copper pipe which does the same job.  Adjustment of the gas/air mix is the same as all gas burners and you should aim for a blue flame, yellow means too much gas and an inefficient burn

I never could tune this burner to give a proper burn flame.
So i order a bix 30 setup from mini steam.
Came with burner, #8 orifice, screw on valve, tube,
So the valve has female threads that look like they can attach to a gas supply can used with small outdoor stoves. But the instructions talk about filling  gas tank and attaching the pipe to the valve on the tank.

My question is can i just attach the tube and the valve directly to the camp stove gas can as long as the can is always in the up position (gas out)

Yes, Bix burners can be fed direct from a gas can or a smaller gas tank if, for example, the boiler is powering a non static engine

Hey Rick, I have one like Dave's talking about, from a seller in Eastern Europe. Mine has a hole
in the nylon section that goes straight through side to side. Yours looks like it does also.
Loosen up the set screw holding the copper tube and adjust it so that you see the end of the copper
at the half way point in the hole and tighten the set screw. Moving it in and out is how you adjust
the air flow to get a good blue flame.
