GMC Barn Find!
« on: April 02, 2022, 09:04:32 am »
I have a feeling you guys like stories of good "barn finds"....

I got a call/text from my brother and he is getting an early model (67 or 68 we think) GMC Truck.  The owner had started working on the truck and passed away and it has set in this shed since around 1988.  Now the brother of the owner of the truck has passed away and (I assume) the lady in the photo wants it gone.  The connection is my brother's friend knows the family that owns the truck.

Truck/Title/All the Parts... $500 dollars.

I swear my brother gets the best freaking deals!

Some people can fall into a barrel of crap and come out smelling like a rose.
I could fall into a barrel of boobies and come out sucking my thumb.  ;D

I suppose I should share Great-grandpa’s other truck with you, this could be considered a “barn find” as it sat in the barn for 20 years  :D  This also sold too cheap at the auction… went 10 miles away to a guy that already had one. He bought it for parts but decided it was too nice to part out (thankfully) and still has it but hasn’t done anything with it. A 1963 Corvair 95 “Rampside”

To a hot rodder, a sixties vintage clean title, and the dash with the VN number to match is worth $500 alone as “ticket” to build a smog free, street legal truck they can get registered.  The rest is gravy.

Has your brother made any progress getting it running?

I really like the side drop down door.

I didn't really notice it when I originally viewed your post.

No he hasn't.  Last I heard he had it in Kilgore and was looking to get it sold.  He decided he didn't want to keep it.

Edit:
Oh, you didn't mean the C10 ;-)
