New Toy - Farmall F-14
« on: August 04, 2019, 01:02:31 am »
Went to an old friends estate sale today and won this for about the price of a nice Jensen 20  ;D  There was also an ugly looking Regular that was his dad's, they struggled to even get the starting bid of $250

Parked it at dad's shop for the night, but forgot to take a picture till after I had shut the doors and lights off, so not the best pictures without and with flash...

Dang Nick, that is a heck of a find and at a bargain price.  Hope it's a runner or can be made to easily.

I've got an H and an F20, still hoping to find a reasonably priced F12 on full steel... And if that happens I might as well find an F30 to complete the F series set  :D

The previous owner died of a heart attack a month or so ago and took very good care of everything. In his barn was roughly 30 cords of oak firewood, so I would assume this had some use.

This is a big one to have to hide from the wife Nick :)

She was standing next to me at the auction and made me place the final bid... I think she liked the little tractor  :D  I was originally planning to bid $500-700 as common tractors have not been selling well lately. I almost had it at $300 but the auctioneer kept dragging it out. Someone even yelled behind me "just sell it!", but then two others got back into the bidding. I placed my "last" bid at $425 and decided to stop as I wanted a set of rear steel that were still coming up and the bidding climbed to $525. I told her I was out and she sighed and said "ohh poor tractor", so I threw my hand back up and got it for $550 in the end.  :D  The other wheels went higher than I wanted to go, so at least I left with something  ;D

I'm not sure that I would ever want to own a full size, but definitely want a 1/2 scale, which would be roughly the same size as this tractor. Too costly to haul and store a full size...

My wife did say after this last purchase that I'm going to need a bigger barn... not sure how you would take that, but I take it as permission to build another...?   :D :D

I definitely agree that falls into the serendipitous remark category and therefore should be taken advantage of..........good luck Nick!
