Have an engine from Germany that’s been stuck at this stage for a week now:
We have received notice that the originating post is preparing to dispatch this mail piece.
I thought the builder/seller prepared it for shipment... Is this just the professional way of saying we found your steam engine and we’re playing with it before sending it off to you?? 😂
I would assume the seller has purchased postage for the package online, but not yet been able to put on that darn mask and get his hinie to the post office.
Have you written the seller, and asked if he has shipped it yet?
The seller has shipped it and he is a good, well known seller
I already knew shipping would be a long wait from previous purchases, it was even the first thing he asked me when I emailed him about building an engine for me. This is a Christmas present to myself, but we decided to wait till after Christmas so it didn’t end up stuck in the mail as long... we’re still expecting it to take 6 weeks or more.

I could take a guess as to it being one of 2 possible sellers, but will wait to se the product.

I have recent experience shipping an engine from Germany.
The costs have moderated a bit for smaller packages, but
they are all being sent by boat. Expect a 6-7 week wait.
I try to have only one package in transit at a time.
Packages over 2 kilo are still expensive and also slow to
complete the journey. While waiting, steam an engine
(put it out there for us to see!) and keep your sunny-side up!

Wayne, I will be happy if its only 6-7 weeks, I was expecting 2-3 months
Nick, I have a package shipped on November 2nd that is still showing that message. It’s an expensive ticket item, so the seller filed a claim with DHL, and I did the same at USPS. Still waiting for it

I seen today that people are still receiving Christmas packages from the post office.
My sister is a postmaster in a nearby town & I asked her if the mail had cleared out and could I expect good service now...she replied , I wouldn't send anything for awhile. People are getting Government stimulus checks and are on a buying frenzy online, plus they get paid to stay home anytime they call in and say they're sick with possible Corona-19 virus. Hence the USPS debacle.
