Cabin Fever Substitute
« on: December 17, 2020, 05:50:30 pm »
Since Cabin Fever has been cancelled for the 20-21 season, I decided to add another new pinball machine to my collection.  It's quite easy to spend a large amount of money at the Cabin Fever Expo, so I figured that with what I was saving by not being able to go, I could afford a new pinball machine.  Although I am not a big fan of the super-hero theme, I had a chance to play this game at a friend's before purchasing one, and liked playing the game well enough to get over not being quite into the theme as I have been on some of my other games.  Hopefully, this virus will go away soon and I can go back to buying engines at engine shows!  I've run out of room for more pinball machines, anyway.  But, you can put a lot of steam engines on a set of shelves.

I don't think i have ever payed to play a pinball machine, but $1 does seem a lot. Still, I would have to play this 8,000 times to break even. Might be cheaper to pay the $ in the long run, but where do you find games on location anymore. They used to be at every truckstop and bowling alley, but no more.

You are right ,they used to be everywhere & I know for a fact that they can take some abuse...hence the hefty cost I guess , years back I used to deliver pinball machines for Bally midwest and played many for free...😊
I do know they were expensive to have professionally worked on.

I have repaired my own for 30 yrs, but the newest ones are not repairable (the main computer board at least) without sophisticated equipment and knowledge. But with home use only, they may never need board repairs in my lifetime!
