Today is Day 2 of my exile/quarantine at my Ranch near Vernon, Texas.
Thankfully, my daughter and fiancé arrived back in Dallas yesterday morning from Columbia. And Columbia Announced that they had closed their borders and were stopping all international flights yesterday too. So, they were very fortunate. There are 300 Peace Corp. workers trapped in Peru.
I left the house when she left for the airport. I spent most of Friday getting organized and unpacking. While unpacking, I realized I left the bin at home in which I had packed the three steam engines to bring with me. 🤬🤬🤬
My flooring crew made good progress on installing the engineered wood floors at the farm house yesterday and then told me they won’t be back until Monday. So, no work inside. We also got 4” of rain this week; so, I need to wait for it to dry out to work outside. I will probably spend the day cleaning the Barn.
Until yesterday, there were no reported COVID-19 cases in West Texas. A guy who lived in NYC flew to Dallas and then to Witchita Falls on Tuesday. When he arrived in Witchita Falls he checked into a hotel. Early Wednesday morning, he went to the Hospital and tested positive for the virus. Now, there are 5 cases in Witchita Falls (about 60 miles East of my Ranch). This is not the first instance I have heard of people leaving NYC because they didn’t think they could get prompt treatment.
Take care everyone!
