I cannot stay silent any longer...
If anyone is thinking of throwing away the banned Dr Seuss books
I'll gladly take them off your hands. mein kampf you can keep.
Don't these cancelers recall the book burnings of the past and
how those who took part have been vilified ever since? We are
in a race to the bottom with 'tyranny of the minority' and the
'dumbing down' of society. Soon, the wokesters will be eating
their own as they did in the 'Cultural Revolution'.
I'd better steam something (that works for a change) or my head
will explode.
I guess I'm old and in the way,
Wayne
You are not alone Wayne ..... you are not alone!!!
The dumbing down of society, that sounds like the first ten minutes of "Idiocracy".
Great movie, shows a lot of stupidity, but a great movie.
I don't "get it" , but I don't get much anymore...
It truly really nuts and truly hard to fathom.
I grew up in rural Saskatchewan, Canada, today I can't even quote some of the common terms I grew up with as they would be very offensive to certain people.
They were just as offensive then, as they are today, but my generation deemed them to be unacceptable, but it did not make them go away.
We need history so we can learn from it, to look back and see that it wasn't right, but to accept it as a failure we overcame.
The pendulum swings, to-and-fro, and never stops.
Right now we are at one extreme of the swing. When
the current 'Jacobins' start eating each other, as
we are starting to see, it will slowly (if we are
lucky) swing the other way, towards life, liberty,
and the pursuit of happiness.
To that end, I think I'll steam up a Bing 'Bitsa'
engine. Reliable and the sightglass no longer
leaks!
