Nick, I'm thinkin' that you need more excuse options, as with only those four, you must sound like a broken record with a skip-back!?!?

I have used another option...

Wife: what's in the box?

Me: parts to fix an engine...

or there's always: I plan to sell this one on... but I leave out the timeframe  :D :D

I have a new line.

I tell Tammy that Danny had it shipped to me. 🤠

Ang has pretty much gotten used to a regular influx of "steam stuff" as she calls it, she will call me & tell me when I get a pkg & many times I will ask her to open it (which I think she likes to do) & take a picture & send it to me via cell phone.

I bought two tractors this past summer at auction about a month apart... one was a steel-wheeled Farmall F-12 painted gray (red wheels) and the other an F-14 on rubber with buzz saw mounted on the front...

She was with me when I bid on and won the F-14, I dropped out of the bidding but she told me to bid once more and I won... I wasn't going to say no to that  :D  We pulled this one to my dad's shop, where it sat until the second auction. Fast forward one month, I bought the F-12 while she was home with the kids. We hauled that one home right after the auction and without telling her it was a new tractor, she thought it was the first one that she helped me bid on.  :D  If she can't tell the two tractors below apart, I don't think she's going to notice any new steam toys...

You could be right about that Nick .... and I truly hope you are, but in my experience women are very good at picking up on the smallest little "thing", while sometimes overlooking that which is far larger and more obvious.

Just sayin' is all !?!?
