Leaving tomorrow morning for five days, going to the "39th National Narrow Gauge Convention" in Sacramento, the state capitol of California. It's only about a 5-6 hour drive, and they haven't had one of these close enough for me to attend since 2004 in Santa Clara (SF bay area) which was the first and last time I'd been to one of these. A whole host of activities, far more than can all be taken in, including the exceptional California State Railroad Museum, Nevada County Narrow Gauge Museum, Jamestown Railroad 1897 the still operational Sierra RR run by Cal State RR Museum, that originally linked to Westside Lumber, Pickring, Hetch Hetchy and other shortline & NG RRs, Real Steam Train Rides, over 50 private & club Model Layout Tours, Talks and Clinics, Modular Layouts and Displays, Sales Reps, Model Contests, and soooooooooooooo much more!!!

This is probably what has had my model railroading juices flowing so strongly here lately ..... so I'll see you all when I return next week!

That looks like five days in narrow gauge steam railroading heaven - glad you're able to make the trip......enjoy!

Daniel, I do believe spending 5 days in such an environment will leave you a changed man...are you bringing a trailer in case anything good pops up for sale  ;D

This sounds like fun....ahh what great fun retirement seems to be ,looking forward to it more all the time , I am jealous Daniel,  take plenty of photos for the rest of us that can't make it please 😊

No Rog, in fact I'm taking my little Toyota Paseo that doesn't have enough room for anything at all in the scale I'm currently pursuing. Don't think that is actually going to make me safe from temptation however, as things can be shipped. Hopefully not too much for sale however, mostly just vendors showing their wares, so I should have no trouble resisting any of that  ....  NOT!!!
