Mrs RedRyder, Simone, is in a long awaited procedure to replace the replacement knee that was installed a year ago. She has been suffering immeasurably for a year since her surgery in May of last year. We are hopeful that her new surgeon will be able to help her. He specializes in helping those with prosthetic knees that didn't work or didn't recover well. She will stay overnight and should be coming home tomorrow, Saturday. Prayers are always welcome.

Wishing Simone a full and speedy recovery Gil, please give her Jen's and my best wishes, I know this has been a tough year for you both.
Thanks, Jim!
We, especially Simone, have been through a lot over the last year.
Now it will likely take a year to get some long term relief.

Holding the best thoughts that I know how, for a successful outcome and a speedy recovery!
I suspect that in many ways, she is the glue that holds this Forum, or at least this Forum's originator, together!!!
Wishing Mrs RedRyder well and look forward to hearing about the successful procedure!
Update...
It has been a week since the surgery and while very painful to recover from, her new knee bends and straightens much more than her last new knee. She is able to straighten to 4 degrees away from locked straight and bend to 80 to 81 degrees. Her physical therapist said she is doing quite well.
Gen just had her second one done in November, just turned six months old. Keep up with the PT and all the at home exercises and she will be up and around. Great to hear it is going well.

Sorry for the pain, but very glad to hear that it seems to be working well this time.
Please let her know that she is in our thoughts!!!
I'm sorry to hear the Mrs needed a second replacement. Take
it nice and slow in the recovery and don't let the therapists
push her along any faster than she feels comfortable doing.
My friend had to go through that because the first
partially disintegrated. The manufacturer blamed it
on improper solution used in storage.
Good Luck,
Wayne
Glad to hear it's going better the second time around - prayers for a speedy recovery.
