Update From The Office Of Steam
« on: December 31, 2023, 11:24:24 am »
Going into Christmas I had a cold and a bout with a cold and elevated Lipase (pancreatitis).

Went to the hospital late Christmas day to get checked out as per instruction from on call doc if the abdominal pain came back.

Pain came back and I said to my daughter that I wasn't too keen on going to the ER on Christmas day. She has worked in an ER and told me it may be their quietest day of the entire year. She called the hospital to check and they said no waiting, we'll bring him right in.

I got a CT scan which eliminated all or most of the causes (gallstones, blockages, etc). Urinalysis confirmed good kidney function.

Bloodwork confirmed Lipase level almost back to normal. In 3 days from 246 down to 68. They like it under 60 but this was pretty close.

Fast forward a few more days and I started feeling worse with a scratchy throat, headache, and body aches.

The hits just keep on coming..... I now have the wuhan flu.

Very sorry to hear this Gil, but glad it isn't one of the more serious conditions earlier named.

With luck, you'll get over the symptoms from that Chinese invader and be back up and running very soon.

Certainly, you have all my best wishes for a mild dose and a speedy recovery ......... Make It So!!!

well, that stinks, as Daniel has said my 1st thought was glad it wasn't pancreatitis, sorry that you got the big bug (seems to be going around again) or everyone's blaming it on that. hope you feel better soon & that no one else gets ill.
