What you find when the snow melts…
« on: March 03, 2022, 09:56:47 pm »
As the snow melts in the spring the garbage appears… this was all found today in a 3-1/2 mile walk  :(  Not even in a populated area… gravel roads with maybe 2 or 3 houses per mile.

it's shameful what people toss out the window, from the cab of my truck I see it on a daily basis. it's very good that you're teaching your little guys to pick it up.

I’m always scanning the road for straps and lost tools when out driving 😂

Garbage isnt the worse thing they throw out of their cars. I live in the country, and people are always leaving their unwanted pets off to fend for themselves in the woods.

We have this to deal with in our ditches, my county posted this a couple years ago:

Quote
Authorities say if anyone doing roadside clean-up finds one of these bottles and opens it, oxygen can be introduced to the chemicals and the bottles can blow up, leading to serious injury or even death.

I saw plenty of it when I was part of a group that did adopt a highway out where I live.

I wonder if many years from now people will discover long lines of discarded cigarette filters running North, South, East and West and scratch thier heads trying to figure out what sort of ritual they were a part of.
