I woke up to 14" of snow this morning, the first snow of the season, and the first time I haven't had to go out and work in it in fifty years.  My wife and I have looked forward to this day for many years, and decided it was quite nice to sit in the warmth of our house and to look out at the fresh snow.  Of course, I did eventually have to go out and plow the driveway.  And then, I played for a while in the snow! We have a “Brown Christmas” quite often... We get snow in October/November, then it melts and just gets cold. Our heaviest snowfalls come in February/March when it starts to warm back up and sometimes all the way into early May.

If it’s cold outside, I want snow!

we were visiting relatives in Ely one year and there was still snow piled up in parking lots on June 22! That was a little hard for me to wrap my mind around!
