2/5 Second Steam Plant
« on: January 25, 2024, 03:31:10 pm »
My second, not too tough, steam plant restoration is a Cheddar Pintail Marine Plant. It came in a box ("looks complete") and after examining it turned out I had a boiler less burner, an engine and a whole bunch of other stuff that was not in the least related to this item.  Jerry Watson of Clevedon Steam did a great job supplying a new burner, piping with fittings and a steam shutoff valve.  Apparently the seven years he spent at Cheddar Models has paid off as he is knowledgeable and able to supply just about anything Cheddar you'd need.  Other than that a new walnut base, some pipe twisting (I wouldn't even begin to call it bending), a few fasteners, and a general cleanup and it's done. It was fun ('cause it worked out well and wasn't too tough) and gave me a little more confidence heading to the next one.

It looks like a fine plant Larry; well done I'd say.

Thanks Bruce and Charlie, I realize it isn't anything fantastic but it was enjoyable and I'll try to put it to it's intended use one of these days.  Thanks again!
