New Wilesco Project
« on: October 21, 2019, 09:29:48 am »
Got this Wilesco D457 recently. It needs a few things, like a boiler bushing, chimney, etc.

It's on my list, and I'll get to it one day.

Anybody have a chimney that'll fit it?

These vertical Wilesco's are a favorite of mine , seems they all perform well. 😉👍

I like it, too, even though my tastes run more to scratch-built engines and those made from castings.

Nice toy, regardless.

And thanks for your approval.

The engine runs fine on air, and the boiler looks all right, so it shouldn't be hard to sort the rest. If worse comes to worst, I can make a serviceable chimney.

Bob you should be able to get some brass tube and the tops of the chimneys you can still purchase.

Thanks. I have some brass tube, and I can take a shot at fabricating the top from shim stock. Otherwise, as you say, I'll buy a top.
