Good start but i was a Little worried with your surface plate  work .
I use a full sheet of wet/dry and go in a variety of directions as traveling  back and forth can lead to a slightly bowed surface . As for boreing the bore i thought the chest surface was done first and then the bore as it was easier to get both in the same parallel.
