Bing 130/280 wreck
« on: January 03, 2022, 11:25:50 am »
I have what I believe is a Bing 130/280 engine that is a bit of a wreck and has been robbed of several parts. As I am not likely to find those parts I am hoping that someone who has an intact Bing 130/280 could provide me with some dimensions and pictures of those missing parts so I could fabricate them. Of course I am open to buying those parts if anyone has a burner, smokestack, governor dome (top), whistle (I don't know if it even had a whistle) etc....
Thanks-
northmich

Northmich,
That's hardly a wreck--actually in good original condition notwithstanding the missing parts. Some of them can be easily fabricated such as the top of the whistle (you already have the valve), the filler plug (remove that awful hexagonal "thing" where the plug would be), governor cover, safety valve weight, and the boiler hold-down straps. Other parts such as the gauge glass cover, burner, and chimney will be more difficult but look for those on Ebay Germany. I'm sorry I don't have this model but I'm sure someone does on one of the forums where you've posted.

I concur.....hardly a wreck, I'd work on it in a heartbeat.
The base tiled pattern is really cool - I'm still trying to
score a nice one.  Give us a video when you get it working.

Good Luck,
Wayne
