Once I got it in my head that I need a brass pulley for the governor on the crankshaft, I had to get er done.
I had a 3/16 crankshaft hole brass pulley laying around, and the Stuart crank shaft is 1/4. Radther than order one online and pay $40 for a small pulley I went ahead and did it myself!
Picked up some more drill bits made from titanium. Instead of going straight to 1/4, I stepped it up through 13/64, 7/32, 15/64, and finally 1/4. This allowed me to drill slowly and use a hand drill and a vice. Used some machine oil to lubricate the bit as drilling.
Once drilled, I cleaned up the bore of pulley with some sand paper on a screw driver back and forth until I got a clean fit over the Crankshaft.
This pulley is either 2.5:1 or 3:1, spins that governor perfectly now. When a load is applied to the crankshaft, the governor acts accordingly.
It also looks great against all the other brass and gun metal.
