I don't see why not? You could turn it right down or when making one just have either one drilled hole in the middle or a small cluster of holes in the middle?

Probably not something I'd do though as I like using the metho burner, I do like to cool my peanut rider between runs as that base gets bloody hot, hot enough that you can see scorch marks on the timber plinth.

Thanks Jim, the Peanut Rider comes with a very attractive Metho burner, my only reason for wanting to build a gas burner for it is to gain a bit of speed control.
