Your Fleischmann slight glass seems just like the two Bings that I have, below is a link where I talked about my Bing 10/132/3 Candlestick Steam Engine and doing different things for the slight glass.  My Bing Werke 70/120 still has my hand made seal that is backstopped silicone tubing seal (that I had from my Weeden slight glass stock).

For the screws, I recommend Permatex 59235 High Temperature Thread Sealant.
