From time to time I have to do solder repairs on the Weeden's I get and after I do that it kind of sucks because the new shinny solder sticks out. Today I got in a product that stain glass makers use to "patina" the joints around the glass. This stuff works really good and very happy with it.
Here is my Weeden Standard Porter after I had to re-solder the stream line and pull the tank off for a little leak. I also had to re-solder on the rudder but you can't see it in the photo. I also had to re-do the filler plug, which I think was a very old repair that leaked too. I thought about cleaning off all the old solder but decided against it and just heated it up and added a wee bit more. I also added quite a bit of solder to the two tank braces on the port side, as the boat had a bit of a list to the starboard side.
After all those repairs the boat looked like it was lit up with sliver LEDs, no more with this Novcan.
