SPS Baker fan measurements
« on: June 04, 2021, 07:40:21 pm »
Per frequent request for my Baker fan measurement's , I'll try to lay it all out here, if I've forgotten any important measurement's just ask here. these are fairly simple to build.

Thanks for the reply Bruce. Do you happen to have any dimensions available for the Baker fans just to give me a start?.
Its nice to have them about the same size when we are talking about loading etc
Regards
Brian

Thanks Bruce - this looks like my first project as I attempt to get back into steam and away from seemingly continual house projects - thanks again.

Good luck with the project Larry , it is the "go to" accessory for most of my new engines & a treat to watch go round and round.

Bruce very kindly answered a lot of questions I had when I built one a few months ago now after seeing Bruce's popping up in a lot of his vid's I knew I just had to have one of the Baker Fan's and they are (yes two of them) now my most often run accessories with Steam, H&M & Stirling engines.

Cheers Bruce,
I will make a start, might even treat myself to a smaller electric saw for this intricate work. I am tempted to paint mine all black we will see?

Thanks Bruce for the videos and the detailed description. I must admit that Baker fans have never really interested me. Now I am sure that I will build one. You have piqued my interest with your post.
Cheers

Bruce, thanks for the information.

This is a perfect project for my Byrnes Saw that I got several years ago. It will have to wait its turn, however. Lots of stuff already in the pipeline!

I believe with just a little creativity  , popsicle sticks & glue , anyone could build one of these and have great time doing it.

The Jim Byrnes table saw is a premium model builders saw , I have his drum sander (no tool better) USA made and solid as granite.

You are not wrong, my friend. That's mainly the reason I bought the saw... it's just such a well-made tool. I see tools that I admire, and I must have them.
