I completed a little more work on the Stuart pump. although the pump doesn't pump water (no internals) the action is now complete. I used bicycle shifting cable from the nodding head to pump transfer, after trying many various wire combinations, this seemed to work the best as far as flexibility but yet firm enough to push the pump piston back down.
