Brand new retro replica #10 steam plant build by Jed P.
« on: January 16, 2022, 08:16:18 pm »
This is a brand new #10 retro vintage replica by Jed P.
it is all new & couldn't be better , it has 10 rivets on either end of the boiler , the firebox is slicker than brand new & the large frame #10 is beautifully machined, it is on a 3/4" plinth & runs exceedingly well considering its not broken in yet. it is powering an L.E.D light. I am fortunate to have such a nice "new" retro build of a #10. also has an anniversary black & brass custom tag.

WOW, that is a sweet looker and a great runner. Is this something Jensen is bringing back
or just available to dealers?

Neither Tommy , something created from an enthusiast.

Just out of curiosity is just the boiler and firebox new or is the engine or parts of it also?

The firebox and chimney stand are the only thing refurbished.

That’s a great piece and some beautiful craftsmanship, but I’m curious what Jensen would have to say about it being labeled as if it is one of their products?

Good question  Mike , Andy Guy looked at it off & on for over 2 days @ cabin fever and thought it was very nice & didn't have any problems with it , so I decided to post it here.

I just hope somewhere down the line it doesn’t get passed off as a genuine Jensen piece. Not saying that you would do that, but it could happen at some point when we are all gone. I think all pieces like this should be marked in some way that they are collector creations or replicas.

Hard to say what would happen decades from now , any knowledgeable Jensen collector should immediately spot the differences , mainly the port hole riveted boiler. I strive to tag my creations as modified by me to distinguish my  creations s from Jensen's. The wonderful thing about our Country is our ability to customize things and make them our own. Jensen not only wasn't harmed by this plant , but they benefited by the sell of  a new #25 and new #15 generator to build this plant.

I just wondered if it was something Jensen was going to offer, kind of like this one, only nicer.
