That is sooooo cool Jim, a great engine to have for your first old German. Mostly cosmetic issues as it seems to run quite well, so the mechanics are sound, with just a few minor leaks to deal with. As for the flywheel wobble, a slightly bent crankshaft would seem the logical source, but do check for bearing slop on that side before looking to straighten the crank, as a little too loose a bearing can have much the same symptoms with the force of the piston rod moving the shaft around in the bearing, but it is an easier fix.

NICE for all concerned .... well done!!!

Wow! What a wonderful engine. If you so paint it, I wonder if brush painting only the rusty area could preserve the patina like restoration of fine art work.

I don’t think the wobble is excessive. Does it throw a belt with an accessory? If not, then I’d leave it.

Thanks Chris, I've cleaned her up and oiled her with a good quality aerosol gun oil and the engine has come up very nicely.

There is just something magic about watching the higher end German classics do their thing.  The double cylinder/piston action is hypnotic as someone else noted.

Beautiful Jim.
