Empire water pumps and Jensen #55 on steam.
« on: March 13, 2020, 10:50:34 pm »
I like to use the o-ring cord for belts when I can. It's pretty hard to get the steady turning of the pulleys with spring bands. These two pumps were restored and kept by Indiana Rog and Rockman 202. I don't run them often but when I do they pump all day. Lots of careful drying and lube after they run keeps them fresh to live another 80 years I hope!

Nice video Tim, some of my favorite steam toys , as an aside , I use baby pure mineral oil in my empire water pumps , solves a lot of issues, lubricates while running, no rust issues, a bit thicker consistency & looks nice while flowing. its also cheap.

Yes that’s a good idea. Is it hard to clean out? I’ll try it next time I run them, thx.

No , Tim its not hard to clean out , the density is close to that of water..& if you don't get it 100% out...doesn't matter, it's a very light oil 😉👍

I love water moving accessories, and these are great.  Really clean too.

Tim, when I had Empire pumps/windmill...I dried them with a hairdryer when finished with a run...took maybe 5 minutes and the bases got hot enough to dry off the water.  Yours sure look good!!
