“Extreme Cold” 🥶
« on: February 17, 2025, 11:12:54 am »
School was cancelled today and the excuse was “extreme cold” 😂 I think they realized they haven’t used any snow days and are trying to use some up… If anything they would have only been 2 hours late in the past, but I guess the kids got President’s Day off this year too!

It was -15˚F (-26˚C) with a wind chill of -35˚F… yes cold, but not cold enough to shut down and hide inside 😂

I ran 5 engines total and will post videos/pictures in this thread over the next week… Enjoy! 🍿

-5! It,s 20 degrees here in Pa, and i havent left the house in 3 days, except to go out to my heated workshop to play :)
Steam engines do look cool running outside in cold weather. Thanks for braving the cold for a video.

We never have the opportunity to run engines in these conditions in Texas.

This is a great video.

You can see how much the plastic valve leaks on these, I have a replacement metal valve to put on sometime… maybe I’ll wait till it’s cold out so I can stay inside and fix it…
