Fleischmann 122/3 steam engine, Temple of Steam #1 engine

Hello fellow steamers, I consider myself very fortunate to have been given the privilege of being the next caretaker of this Fleischmann 122/3 steam engine. this was the very 1st steam engine that Roger G. aka "IndianaRog" received as a 10 yr. old boy in 1962, it is in very good condition including the box, burner tray & funnel.

the Fleischmann has still an excellent condition.

Very well done, Rog and Bruce!

Really nice to see the further preservation a well loved well cared for piece of of history. 

I believe this Fleischmann the first fire in the flame that many years later would launch IndianaRog's Temple of Steam.

That is one engine I never thought would leave the Temple!  :o  :o

Beautiful engine and a nice transfer to its new owner. I wish I still had my first small oscilalator from ca. 1960 but it's long gone.

Thanks Nick , I waited nearly a year before receiving it ,also with the condition that Rog write a provenance letter with it & that he could reclaim it at anytime. 😊

Like Nick, I can not believe Roger let that out of The Temple. Heck, I still have all of my Hot Wheels
from when I was ten. Roger knows that you'll take good care of it. Congrats.

I'm pushing 72 now and like it or not one begins to think of the end and what will happen to all the collector "stuff" when I check out.  I have instructed the kids on what is dollar valuable and what is more sentimental.  Problem is the sentimental stuff will likely go to an auction house or Goodwill...the Fleischmann 122/3 though sentimental to me, won't carry much weight when I am gone.  Enter buddy Bruce who will care for it in my place!
