Someone asked, so this is how I did it.

Now, I usually forget about pix until I'm already
done and everything is buttoned up.  That is the
case here.  So, I made a bit of a diagram, showing
a 2 cart and 1 cart installation from one end.  It's
really simple, but very important to have the metal
next to the carts to help them 'get rid' of their heat.
Several 1/16" thick strips the same length of the cart
will do it - Thats how mine 2 Empires are set up.  I
also later experimented with wrapping heavy baling
wire tightly around the cart and that worked - I had
the cart heating (uninstalled) a long time w/no problems.

To finish, if you are handy and experienced at fussing
around and cobbling things up you'll find it's easy.
Otherwise, just take your time - try not to electrocute
yourself and remember, no matter how these engines
are heated, they always get hot.

Good Luck,
Wayne

Thanks for this. Makes a lot more sense now. I’ve got a couple cartridge heaters and tomorrow I hope to have steam again. I’ve missed this thing.

Do you have a preference, one or 2 heaters?
