Jensen 75 + BIX burner
« on: January 27, 2024, 05:44:20 pm »
Here’s my #75 with a newly installed BIX burner using Coleman C500.
Created a homemade chuff catch for dirty water. Works well!

Enjoy

Nicely done ..... got to love a 75, a real "go to" engine for a quick steam fix or for any accessory driving a person may be inclined to try!

Yeah!!! They are a lot of fun.   I know in the future I’m going to broaden my collection.  It’s not a cheap hobby, have to save for some other ones I want.   I only dream of owning a #50.

Might I say, that a Jensen #20 is a BIG step up from the 25/75 range, and though not quite a #50, it is a far more affordable (about 1/10 if you are patient) and less space consuming alternative to the really big bulky #50. For that matter, a #55 is actually quite a lot of engine as well and can often be found for even less than a #20.

Just sayin' is all .....  ;c)

Yeah, I’ve been fixing my attention to a #20.  They’re $639 before tax and shipping brand new with Jensen.  I may go down this rabbit hole.  A #50 is $5,000 dollars plus shipping and tax.  It’s not in my budget, but, perhaps one day. Hopefully Jensen will stick around for 10 more years, otherwise they’ll be even more expensive and hard to come by!

I wish the #20 could be gas fired. I really like having fire under a boiler.
