The Lone Star Steam Sawmill was Founded in 2019 in Plano, Texas.

This is a two line Sawmill consisting of a Saw Timber (Large Log) Line and a Chip & Saw (Small Log) Line. The mill will produce 60 mmbf of dimensional lumber on a 40 hour shift.

The Saw Timber Line’s Primary Breakdown Saw is a Doll 699 Vertical Saw.  This Doll 699 Vertical Saw is featured on page 104 of Morton A. Hirschberg’s book, “Steam Toys, A Symphony in Motion” and was acquired at the Pook & Pook Antique Toy Auction of Mr. Hirschberg’s personal collection in December 2018.

The Chip & Saw Line’s Primary Breakdown Line is a Doll 682 Vertical Saw.  The Doll 682 Vertical Saw was also acquired at the Pook & Pook Antique Toy Auction of Mr. Hirschberg’s personal collection in December 2018.

The Steam Power Plant for the Lone Star Steam Sawmill is a Doll 365/1. The Doll 365/1 Steam Engine was acquired from ScottLand Steam in 2018.

That's a great display setup - having two saws in action really makes it work well.

Great video Charlie  8) I know this was about the sawmills, but I LOVE that engine!! I have never powered mine with an engine, in fact I just got the log return working right recently, but I may have to now after seeing your video  ;)  It's still sitting on the photo bench with the baby doll  ;)  just waiting for a run...

Nice setup and beautiful engine.
Instead of 60 mmbf of lumber, perhaps it 6 mmbi i.e. board inches. :)

Thank you for all of the nice feedback!

This was a fun project.
