Write or Wrong
« on: August 28, 2022, 03:09:04 am »

I always thought it interesting how history or item provenance of an item is carried or spoken.

Is this history accurately described?  is it the history of the conqueror?

My research leads me to believe this is a JE Stevens but am I right or wrong or will what I write and become lore?   The internet is actually very small.

Written in Stone.   Is something archived?  Who preserved what?  Id bet books contain more knowledge collectively than the internet however not accessible.

Ever seen the same story or idea or item carried across many different websotes or platforms?  Internet lore on many obvious concepts are not always accurate.

Hence the high price of catalogs for history of your engine.

Regardless this is now on the internet will this video last 150 years and will this train make 300 years by then?   I dont know.  But until then may the show go on.

Just random thoughts and mild frustration that i am not 100 % sure who made this amazing live steam dribbler.

I hope I am accurate and correct.

Anyhow

Here is a Loco with no promise just assumptions.

JE stevens yadda yadda yadda

Cheers

Jason

Not all information is in books .
In my case i have known of a steam engine that was/is a one off by a commercial maker here in NZ
It is not catalougued .
Does this make it a fraud or false information.
I know it history and the storey behind it .
Interested in your thoughts .

As for the Loco in the video i know nothing about it except i like it .

Cheers

Love this Loco too Dennis.

I think since you have the information you must be the curator or catalog maker and make sure this info is shared or stYs with the engine.

I think making up information or false claims in a negative when curating or archiving history is wrong.  BUT  I think as much info can and should be shared as possible and when unsure make sure others are also aware.

I HAave a couple homemade engines I just love.  Whats yours like?
