Tiny vertical hit and miss engine

To add to the thread with the still pictures of the engine here is the video of the engine running.

Smooth little runner. How is the bottom (crank) end lubricated? Thanks for the video.

The crankshaft rides on sealed ball bearings and the rod just takes a couple of drops of oil every now and then.

I had noticed the fuel tank bracket. Interesting to see how the bracket was fabricated. The crankcase build is very interesting too.

wow. A crash course of machining tips from an obvious expert machinist. Can't tell you how much i am learning just from these short glimpses in to your builds. Would love to know more details on that gear cutter!

 Nice little engine, and nice video as well. Thanks it was very informative. I am trying to block out the time to tackle a crankshaft project myself. Have the four jaw chuck so may as well give it a try.

When I get the time I'll post a thread on making gear cutters and using them.

Thanks, I will look forward to it. Making my own gears and my own valves are the 2 things i would like to learn how to do next in my engine builds. At that point i would be willing to try a build from raw materials.
