V Twin oscillator
« on: April 04, 2019, 04:11:24 pm »
Bought this last year, made by a retired engineer to a fairly high standard.  It is double acting so self starts nicely and runs very smoothly.  I made the four column base for it and added the brass flywheel, I have it currently linked up to a spare Wilesco vertical boiler heated by a small 2 inch gas burner which is also a recent acquisition so a double test in progress for this first steaming:

Quite pleased with that

Very professional looking plant set up Dave. The engine is silky smooth but the stand and posts and Wilesco vertical all on a nice plinth make it a great total package. Very good work.

That runs well Dave, pairs quite nicely with the Wilesco boiler too.

That would be a fine set-up in anyone's collection, like mine for instance!!!   ;c)

Thanks guys, it is a surprisingly good engine and would work well in a r/c model.  They come up infrequently on EBay, I think the builder just makes them as a hobby, there is one for sale right now if anyone is interested:
