Weeden No. 311
« on: September 27, 2025, 05:04:51 pm »
I picked up this Weeden No. 311 off eBay but the sale had it listed as a No.648 from the 1930s but this engine was made in the 1920s.  On the eBay listing, none of the photos showed the smoke stack but I was crazy happy it was included.  When I was looking at the listing photos I was pretty sure the burner wasn't original, now that I have it I think it might be.  Either way, the burner works well.  The only thing missing was the weight for the pressure valve leaver but I took the one from my extra Big Giant to put on this No. 311, which is the correct style for the lever.

Its a simple little engine, it doesn't even have a sight glass.  Though something about it made me want it.  While simple, it has a bit of style.  I also love when Weeden stamps their name on the sheet metal.

Oh, on the bottom someone wrote in pen, "#312".  Though I am pretty sure it isn't a 312 but a 311.  Which I went by Frank's description and measurements on his Weeden website.
