Wilesco D12 - First Firing
« on: May 03, 2022, 06:50:17 pm »
You can see all the extra steam oil in the tray that I ran through the cylinders because it did feel dry and have a little drag, but I caught the first flick of the flywheel on video. It was already smoothing out quite a bit in the first couple minutes. Only complaint would be the plastic handles… I am very tempted to swap the regulator for a metal one as I plan to run it a lot. Was also hoping to put a Wilesco pull-chain whistle on but didn’t realize the one on my T-125 is larger than what’s on these as even my 5 year old has trouble opening this whistle.

I hate those plastic valves as well, they´re such a stupid move by Wilesco...
Would have been way better, if they´d upped their pricetags a couple of bucks, and stayed with the well functioning valves they had already.

But otherwise a beautiful looking engine, that seems to move towards being a very smooth runner, just as soon as it has been properly run in.

Congratulations on getting one of these, and thanks for sharing!
Cheers
